Meet the team: Sony Batten
I am passionate about supporting individuals to make career choices that provide personal satisfaction and enrichment, as well as achieve organizational success. Work provides individuals with more than just a salary, it's confidence, personal satisfaction, success, friendship, making a difference, learning, overcoming challenges, friendship, and being part of a community.
Why you are passionate about recruitment?
I have worked on and off in HR and Recruitment for the last 25 years as well as having and bringing up two children. I am particularly proud of my role as Head of HR at WorkDirections. As the fifth member of staff, I saw the organization grow to over 400 in a period of three years. That’s a lot of recruitment! I also love bringing people from different backgrounds into the industry. At Red Snapper Recruitment, I recruited someone from a retail background who went on to become a consistently top-performing consultant.
Why did you join TRM International?
I joined TRM-International because I share their vision and values about working in partnership with clients to deliver a holistic, inclusive recruitment service, that supports flexible working practices and recognizes the value of supporting women back into the workplace.
TRM-International provides a complete Talent Transformation HR service that supports organizations in attracting the best talent, and retaining and developing staff in the long term, all of which are integral to operational success.
Special skills: Outside of work I love cooking (dessert is my favourite part of any meal) and walking in the beautiful Kent countryside, but my real passion is yachting. I am a qualified Day Skipper and there is nothing I like better than being in Mallorca sipping a cocktail on the flybridge of a beautiful yacht. For my next adventure, I would love to do some island hopping in Greece, Croatia, or Thailand.
Fun fact: My interesting fact is that in the 1990’s I danced next to Robbie Williams at Miss Moneypennies nightclub in Birmingham!
